Dead Rat Games???

DRG is a grass roots Game Design house that has recently made the transition from internet to iPhone app development.
In the beginning DRG was PC only, and HARD CORE PC to boot. The first game, Empire Ascendant, was put on hold due to some recent developments in the economy and the unprecedented phenomenon that is the Apple iPhone.

The introduction of the iPhone was the perfect opportunity for DRG to make a break for it, offering three distinct advantages:

1. The simplicity of the iTunes software deployment model. Apple made it SO easy for amateur developers to get on board and reach millions, with fewer issues of pirating, advertising, revenue collection, etc. etc.

2. The iPhone itself lends itself to lightweight graphics and small footprint apps, exactly the type that a single dev can pull off without a team of 1000 programmers, graphics designers, artists, scriptwriters and admins working on it for years.

3. The Objective-C language for Mac/iPhone. An incredibly strong, robust language with C-roots and fantastic documentation, examples and support through Apple including videos and a active developer forum. We were able to pick up the language, the platform and release to Market in an incredible 4-weeks. Fantastic!

Cool, and the rat thing?

Umm, the company was named after a stuffed rat. Yeah, that's it below in one of his more 'animated' moments. It was just dumb enough to name the company after it.
